undocument’s For Lovers, Dreamers and Non-believers
I feel so hip and trendy right now, but also super mellow in part thanks to Undocument and his debut album For Lovers, Dreamers and Non-believers!
This is a great debut album and it’s awesome for relaxing too! But more on that later.
undocument is Brian Pampaselle! Despite the occasional out of this world surrealism vibe given off by his music, he is a native of planet Earth. An electronic and hip-hop producer from Long Beach, Californina. He’s also got a wicked sense of style! Don’t believe me? here’s a quotation from the press kit he sent me:
I would greatly appreciate your
consideration in assisting me with one or more of the following:
Reviewing my music and/or interviewing myself for your magazine, blog, newspaper, napkin, teleprompter test, smoke signal relay, etc., or:Placing my music in the rotation of your radio station, in your next telegraph,
or as a broadcast through the Arecibo Observatory, or:
Licensing my music in your motion picture / film, television show, syndicated
radio broadcast, commercial, podcast, children’s wind-up toy, etc.
Since I’m a sucker for a sense of humor I of course said sure I’d post a review and add him to the Crazy Wicked Awesome Radio Stream and will eventually schedule an interview!
Inspired by a variety of artists, including the likes of; Boards of Canada, Radiohead and Flying Lotus, undocument’s unique musical style makes this nine track instrumental album instantly recognizable. From the smooth, chilly flow of As Always, With Affection to the uptempo glitch track that is Thrush.
I gotta say, as someone who’s a fan of more upbeat stuff I was still impressed with the style of undocument.
I really hope he continues to keep pushing forward with his career and stays awesome as Donuts!
(sorry this took so long to write and post, I’ve had a stretch of bad luck recently)
